The main object on this set is the Snow Queen throne. It's mainly built out of polystyrene, mdf and platex and covered by a past named aguaplast. Aguaplast is presented in powder or already prepared and ready to use. I do prefer to mix my own since that way you can control the amount of water in the mixture depending of the technique used to apply it, a brush or a spatula. You can even mix some colour or even glue, yet I'm not an engineer to understand what kind of pigments should be used since its PH could mess up the aguaplast integrity and consistence.

Here's a model built roughly at a scale 1/20. The main stage is now bigger with 13 per 6 meters. Some of stage irregularity will be lost for safety reasons.

This set will be a part of the fantastic world created every X-mas at Santa Maria da Feira. It represents the far away Queen of Snow Palace and it's the main entrance into this land. Lets now try and build anything similar to the drawing and see how it ends up.
UHU precision glue pen
This is a new product by UHU. Different from those we are used to, this pen is very precise and great for small paper cut's crafts. That's what they say.
I've already tested it and its glue is strong but the pen is not so smooth and easy to use as I expected to be. In general, its a great idea but needs some improvements since you have to do to much pressure on the paper and squeze to hard the pen leaving marks on the paper surface.
I've bought it at:

rotring
I've found a store at Guarda where they've got a bunch of rotring pen points and other rotring parts from both the rapidograph and isograph models.
Here are some from the collection I've just bought. A few more were already dispensed to my good friend and fellow artist Migvel Tepes.
They are being sold at the amazing price of 4€ the pen point or 7€ the entire pen. Remember that 10 years ago you could've paid something like 7.000$00 (35€) for a .10mm rapidograph pen point.

get yourself some magnets
Continuing the last post. In order to grab those powerful nib magnets you'll need a six point star screwdriver set to dismantle the hdd case. They are similar to the allan headed screws (unbrako) yet in the shape of a star instead. This torx screwdriver sets are found at chinese stores for a small price.
Torx head screws have a six point star pattern, and they are accordingly also called star screws. The technical specification is ISO 10664. These screws are used in the automotive industry, in computers and hard drives and consumer electronics goods.
a new life to a dead hdd
A year ago I was presented to a set of small but yet powerful magnets. Nowadays I collect and use them in my own projects. This magnets are found inside hard drive disks (hdd) and are also known as neodymium-iron-boron (NIB) high-flux magnets or even 'rare earth' magnets. They are great to use inside puppet hands if you wish them to pick up heavy things. Here are some pictures of these magnets, those little thin objects over those metal plates. Commonly glued to those brackets with some few dots of glue, they can be removed without stress just by bending the bracket.
