I'm starting to play around with a mix of two different clays just to achieve an interesting final effect.
The trick is to mix them just a little and not to much, so that the two colors could be visible perfectly after trimming.
It's also a nice way to check up if you're mixing the clay correctly by observing the resulting pattern when cutting it as seen in this picture.
Comecei a brincar com uma mistura de duas pastas diferentes apenas pelo efeito final resultante dessa mistura. O truque é misturá-las apenas um pouco e não demasiado, para que as duas cores sejam visíveis depois de fretar.
É ainda uma boa maneira de verificar se estamos a misturar as pastas correctamente, observando o padrão resultante do corte como se pode ver na figura.

O termo técnico para o fundo de uma peça é 'frete'. Literalmente algo chato de se fazer e o acto de fazer o frete é 'fretar'. Todavia são tantas as possibilidades e opções que se podem tomar ao fretar uma peça. Criar padrões que apenas um pequeno grupo de pessoas irá alguma vez ver.
